Direct Tuber Testing Testing Services for PVY
Potato virus Y (PVY) is a primary cause of downgraded or rejected seed lots. Agdia offers direct tuber testing for PVY in seed potato lots using insdustry proven ImmunoCapture (IC) qPCR methods. Early, sensitive detection in tubers helps you maintain certification standards and provides more confidence in early stage seed trade negotiations.
Why Test With Agdia?
Agdia's IC qPCR method employs highly sensitive antibodies that were developed specifically for this purpose. Our antibodies capture both serotypes of PVY and are optimized to achieve the highest level of analytical sensitivity in immunocapture qPCR methods.
We utilize qPCR primers that have been validated internally and are used by multiple seed potato certification states
Our lab is ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) and approved by USDA-APHIS to perform plant pathogen diagnostics for minituber production.
You will have a comprehensive test report within 7 to 10 business days of sample submission.
Your results are confidential.

Your Samples, Your Results.
It is Agdia’s policy that our customers own their results. All communications, including test reports, are confidential between Agdia and the customer unless the customer has specifically released the information to other parties via written consent. This release can be expressed on the sample submission form, a faxed request on company letter head or via email from the company address.
Agdia will on occasion review trends in pathogen incidence and test performance using assay data. This data is not traceable to sample origin and all unique identifications have been removed. Agdia is legally required to report positive findings of certain regulated pathogens to the USDA. Should a customer submit samples for a reportable pathogen, Agdia will notify the customer both in advance of performing the test and prior to contacting the regulatory authority of positive findings. Contact testing@agdia.com for more information on confidentiality and our quality management system.
