Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV) is a RNA-containing virus found in cucurbit crops. The viral particles are rod-shaped, 300 x 18 nm. CGMMV is readily transmitted by mechanical methods such as foliage contact, handling of the plants during cultivation, soil contamination, or through infected seeds. No biological vector is described for this virus.

CGMMV is found in Europe and Asia. Symptoms are leaf mottling, blistering and distortion with stunted growth in cucumber. Cucumber fruits are usually symptomless. In watermelon, the virus induces slight leaf mottling and dwarfing, but can cause serious internal discoloration and decomposition of the fruit.
