Angelonia flower break virus (AnFBV) is a new carmovirus recently described infecting Angelonia angustifolia in Germany (Winter et al., 2005) and in the U.S. and Isreal (Adkins et al., 2005). Naturally infected hosts include Angelonia, Phlox, and Verbena.
The Agdia ELISA test for AnFBV has successfully detected the U. S., German, and Israeli isolates.Cross-reaction to other ornamental viruses has not been observed. No tissue reactions were observed with 128 healthy ornamental varieties. Leaf tissue was used in the development of this test. Other tissues (stem, roots, and seed) may be successfully used but no data was gathered during development.
The Agdia ELISA is offered as an alkaline phosphatale labeled Reagent Set that includes capture antibody, detection antibody and diluent, sample extraction buffer, and uncoated microtiter plates.
